To finish, or not to finish?
“Intuition is more important to discovery than logic”
— Henri poincaré
Today, I offer you something to contemplate.
It came up in conversation a couple of days ago in my women's circle.
Do you feel the need to finish everything you start?
(We all agreed though, that often the opposite goes with books - will very happily start books, and not finish them without regret or concern).
Do you feel that if you don't finish something you started, that you've failed? Is it easy to let go, or do you finish what you started through suffering and/or hesitation, and a certain stuffiness from the ego?
Wisdom from the Veda's guides us to adopt the idea of following that which is most charming. Charming in the sense that it is best for our expansion, and evolution. Little flickers of "hey you, yes you, come over to where this beautiful music is playing"... and then meeting the love of your life who was also charmed to move closer to where that music was coming from.
The idea of following what's charming is not applied loosely, nor broadly...e.g. someone who is continuing to abuse substances might see that they are following what is charming (e.g. buying more alcohol), but as we know these actions are harmful to that person, and many others around them. It is not an evolutionary following of charm.
In each moment, we are being offered intuitive insight, from within, and from the environment around us. To ignore this intuition for logic is perhaps our biggest downfall as human beings. To be doing something because we feel we should, rather than following what feels right to the depths of our being, where the magic then awaits.
To finish, or not to finish?
That is the question.
Shared with love and a smile,
