The truth about people pleasing…

“Don’t be afraid of losing people, but be afraid of losing yourself trying to make everyone happy”

— Naguib Mahfouz

You're not designed for everyone to like you.

*read that again*

If we're to turn to the wisdom of the Veda, people pleasing and the pressure it places upon us involves the focus of our divine attention outward of ourselves, which isn't moving with the tide and flow of evolutionary progress. Instead of following the direction of charm through our own subtle senses, people pleasing is attempting to find and act on that which is charming to another. Each time we do this, we add further add to our karmic debt.

Don't lose yourself trying to do this! Where in your life do you feel you might be bending the flow of nature's intelligence to please another? How is this actually impacting your wellbeing?

When your love flows from the inside out, instead of the other way around, people pleasing is swiftly exchanged for the ability to help others with compassion, and firm boundaries.

After all, you are here to live. Not to stress, not to prove, not to even please.

Just to live.

Shared with love and a smile,
