What is freedom, actually?

When you come to a point where you have no need to impress anybody, your freedom will begin.

I want to be free. Really free. And that is going to take radical self-awareness, and a total release of attachment. Basically, as long as I need something from someone, I am not free.

If I need someone to love me so that I love myself... I am not free.

If I need to do something for someone every week so that they favour me... I am not free.

If I need to look a certain way every time I glance in the mirror... I am not free.

If I am attached to my financial success... I am not free.

If I need to perform a certain way in the bedroom to feel worthy... I am not free.

Well, based on the above five criteriums... I have never been free. Not as free as I want to be. And I want to be free! Braveheart free. It’s the only thing that will satisfy my soul.

What does freedom look like to you?

Is it being able to hop on a plane any fly anywhere in the world?

Is it to dine out every week at the latest and hottest restaurant on the block?

Is it being able to buy the seasons latest fashion?

Are you seeking freedom from something, or someone? Or even freedom from some-thing, to impress some-one?

The last few months may have nudged (or forced) you to think otherwise. The things we might have thought equal freedom, are in fact causing the world to suffer. Nature's intelligence is urging us to consider how our actions are not sustainable...and not creating real deal happiness.

From the over-consumption of things, to the lack of attention towards ourselves. The spotlight has been cast over these dark shadows.

When we invite a twice daily 'being' meditation practice into our lives we begin strengthening our awareness in being. We start being less needy of the world, and instead seek of ways to give to the world. We don't need any more practice in seeing ourselves as the way we look, our relationship status, our bank balance, education status, job etc. We need practice in how to look within.

When we do this, we find that we no longer need to impress. We simply begin to 'know'.

Freedom - it's an inside job.
