Whatever is in the way, becomes the way

The only way out is through. The only way through is together.
— John Green

I grew up playing sport,
solo and in a team,
followed by becoming a coach.

And if you've known me for a while,
you'll know that I love my footy.
I have found that sport
paves the way for immense personal growth,
gaining an understanding of ourselves,
and how to support,
and be supported by our team-mates.

It is built upon the crucial components of
connection, growth, and belonging.
Three very important things that a
human being requires to thrive.

A couple of months ago I watched
the docu-series 'Making Their Mark',
which offered genuine insight into the
faults of fears of AFL players
during the 2020 season.

Damien Hardwick, coach of the
Richmond Football Club (go Tiges!),
said something incredibly profound
to his team following a loss,
and it has stuck with me ever since:

"Whatever is in the way, becomes the way".

So I pass this wisdom onto you today.

What is in YOUR way? What are you waking up
to every day that stops you from
achieving the things you want to?

Is it something external to you,
or is it actually, yourself?

It's time to stop trying to get around
the barrier.

It's time to stop avoiding that block.

It's time to stand tall and look at
exactly that thing that stands
in your way.

Look at that pain and suffering,
and say,
I see you.
I acknowledge you.
I will bring myself to you,
and take action.

And it's time to remember,
that doing it alone is not
an option.

Your responsibility? Yes.
Going without or denying support? No.

Written with love, and a smile,
Natasha x
